Feline Fix Week March 30 to April 3To make a reservation click here The Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia Teams with Project CatSnip to Fight Cat Overpopulation in South Coastal Georgia As part of an ongoing effort to end feline overpopulation, the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia has teamed with Atlantašs Project CatSnip to offer coastal residents discount spay-neuter services for cats. The Clinics will be held Monday through Friday (March 30 through April 3) at Pet Supplies Plus at 211 Golden Isles Plaza in Brunswick. All cats must be presented for surgery at 7:30 a.m. This low-cost service provides spays or neuters for all cats, especially feral cats that live outside and are in a constant state of reproduction. This is a perfect time to trap a cat and bring it to the clinic to be spayed or neutered. It is estimated that forty to sixty percent of cats are unowned, able to reproduce and feral. This project hopes to lower our communityšs severe cat overpopulation problem at a critical time of the year < before kitten season. Contact the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia to borrow a trap and learn how to trap and handle a feral cat. The CatSnip fee is $49.95 for a male or female. The price includes a no-charge visit, free veterinary exam, free pain relief, toe-nail clip and TLC. Cats are admitted at 7:30 a.m. and are discharged the same day. Surgeries are performed by a fully licensed veterinarian in a $150,000 vehicle that is fully equipped with modern medical equipment. To make a reservation go online at www.projectcatsnip.com or call 770-455-7077.CatSnip is a nonprofit, public service, animal welfare program. Most of the cats treated live outdoors exclusively or are owned by people experiencing financial hardship. Most of these cats are intact and are in a constant state of reproduction. These "forgotten felines" would not have access to sterilization surgery if it were not for the affordability of services like the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia, Chat and the soon to open Suziešs Friends. Dr. Cynthia Nicholson, a licensed veterinarian of 15-years, directs all medical services. She is assisted by a caring, professional staff. Project CatSnip is a program of the Atlanta Animal Alliance, PO Box 450715, Atlanta, GA 31145. Make a tax-deductible donations to help provide services like these are greatly needed and appreciated.
