Distinguished Veterinary Award
Dr Amy Orlin on left is receiving the
Distinguished Service Award The Atlanta Animal Alliance is proud to announce Dr. Amy Orlin as this year's recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Greater Atlanta Veterinary Medical Society. This award recognizes outstanding dedication to the profession of veterinary medicine. Dr. Orlin received her BS from Emory University and her DVM from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She has fourteen years of experience as a small animal private practitioner and served as staff veterinarian for the DeKalb Humane Society, where she saved many animals brought to the shelter with life-threatening conditions. Currently Dr. Orlin is applying her skills and expertise exclusively in developing non-lethal methods to decrease pet overpopulation through spay/neuter. In November of 2002, she is launching Project CatSnip, a nonprofit mobile surgical vehicle specially designed for feline spay/neuter. This program will prevent as many as 30,000 homeless cats from being born. Dr. Orlin can operate on cats and dogs as early as eight weeks of age. Pediatric spay/neuter is strongly endorsed by the American Veterinary Medical Association to prevent pet overpopulation. If you would like to donate to Project Catsnip and assist in the Atlanta spay/neuter efforts, please send a check to 3990 Flowers Rd #520 Atlanta, GA 30360, call 770 455-7077 visit projectcatsnip.com Note: Above picture is available online at www.projectcatsnip/mediapr.htm |
