Veterinary Tech Support 
This position is offered M-Th in the AM only. You will assist our veterinary staff by cleaning cages, holding and confining animals during exams and vaccinations, cleaning medical and surgical equipment, releasing animals to their owners after spay/neuter surgery and other duties as needed.  This position is fast paced, requires a volunteer with quick learning skills and offers a high level of animal contact. It is ideal for those considering a career in the field of veterinary medicine. Volunteers will be exposed to surgical protocols in this position. There are a limited number of positions in this program. Ability to handle a fractious cats in a positive manner is required.
Required training: On the job training.
Must be at least 18 years of age
Time commitment: At least one 4 hour scheduled shift per week for a minimum of 3-6 months.

Surgery Clinic Assistant
Purpose of the position: To assist the veterinary staff, and sanitize the post operative area and equipment after use. This position has high animal contact and is ideal for those considering a career in veterinary medicine.

Duties:

bulletSocialize and comfort the animals
bulletMove animal from cages to prep table 
bulletProcess paperwork for each animal
bulletClean and organize the veterinary clinic
bulletRe-organize and sanitize veterinary surgery packs
bulletAssist with laundry
bulletSweep and mop

Training Required: 

All Veterinary Clinic Assistants must be at least 18 years of age. This position is offered mid-afternoon and evenings.

Dates Available: Year round

Shifts available:

Monday through Thursday - 2 pm - 5:30 pm & 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Volunteers are scheduled for the same shift each week. There is a minimum 3-month commitment.

Location: On site at clinics around metro Atlanta 2 to 5:30 shift see schedule
6 pm to 9 pm at vehicle storage facility.
